One of the greatest blessings we receive as believers is the Holy Spirit’s daily guidance. Romans 8:14 (NLT) says, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” This verse assures us that we don’t have to figure out life on our own—God, through the Holy Spirit, will lead us into the life He has planned. The word “led” here, means to be guided or brought along by another, much like a shepherd leading sheep or someone taking another by the hand. The Holy Spirit actively directs our steps, shaping our decisions to align with God’s will. Being led by the Spirit requires surrender. John 16:13 (NLT) reminds us, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.” He reveals God’s truth and helps us navigate decisions and uncertainties with wisdom. To be led by the Spirit, we must trust Him fully, as Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) advises: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Start each day by surrendering control to God in prayer and inviting the Holy Spirit to guide your steps. As you study Scripture, He will use God’s Word to direct you, through His promptings. This continual surrender cultivates a lifestyle of sensitivity to God’s presence and guidance.
