John 14:26 (KJV) “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” The Holy Spirit, often called the Comforter, is your constant companion, guiding and supporting you. The Greek word for Comforter is parakletos which means “someone called alongside to help.” In ancient times, a parakletos stood by as a legal advocate, defending and speaking on behalf of others. This is exactly how the Holy Spirit walks with us in every high and low. God’s comfort does not mean the absence of pain or suffering but His presence with us through it. The Holy Spirit provides peace, strength, and joy that transcends all difficulties. Paul speaks of God as the source of all comfort in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT), so that we, too, can share that comfort with others. David also echoes this truth in Psalm 23:4 (NLT), “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” In every challenge you face, the Holy Spirit is right there, walking beside you. He will comfort, strengthen, and guide you through every season of life.
