Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Because of this, it is crucial that we allow the Holy Spirit to take control of our hearts, shaping our thought lives. The Holy Spirit works to align our thinking with God’s heart, His Word, and His will. Romans 8:6 tells us that “the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” When we yield to the Holy Spirit, He guides our thinking and helps us resist the temptations of our flesh. Paul emphasizes this in Galatians 5:16-17, encouraging us to let the Spirit lead our lives, which aligns us with God’s truth. David understood the importance of right thinking when he prayed, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer” (Psalm 19:14 NLT).
